My Confession - I am sick of my negative family!!

A reader sent me this:
Do you have a negative family? You know, the type of people that rather say something bad about someone..than something good. Never have anything nice to say about each other. Never say “I love you.” Don’t show affection. Don’t kiss ..don’t hug.. Just want to fight. Never want to resolve anything.. Just want to cuss each other out. Never want to apologize or talk things through. Just want to be mad…be hateful to each other…be mean. And counseling..that is out of the question…just want to stay ignorant. Here is my confession…. my family is like that… and I am sick of it!!! I can’t stand it.. I pray I am not like that too. I try to be different..but I can tell some of it rubbed off. I try to love my kids. I try to apologize when I am wrong. I still have difficulty saying I love you. But at least I recognize it as a problem and I am working on it. It is eating me alive. I can’t stand it. .. This is my confession.

Welfare

This is always a hot topic. Welfare and welfare reform which means welfare by itself ain’t working. What do you really think of welfare. Is someone sitting in the hood get over without working, living fat on your tax dollars watching BET and smoking Newports or is there someone who had a bad break and trying to get back on their feet and all that they need is a helping hand to become a contributing member of society. Or maby both, either way let us know what you think!

Embattled Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick made national news a few months back with his text messaging scandal and allegations of a wild stripper party at the Governor’s mansion that may have resulted in one stripper later being killed. Dubbed the hip hop mayor early in his career he comes from a political family and seemed to have unlimited potential when he first too the reigns of Detroit.
